Friends of the San Juans is excited to invite you to our second-annual Women’s specific On-Snow Avalanche Awareness Class. This course is for trans, cisgender, and any non-binary recreationalists who center their education in women-focused spaces. In a 5-hour field session, participants will work with instructors to learn and apply the basic concepts covered in classroom-based avalanche awareness presentations, including preparation & communication, terrain recognition & amp; avoidance, smart travel protocol, basic snowpack understanding, and safety gear use.

Early-bird registration for FOSJ members opens November 3rd and general registration opens December 1st.
