After a decade, we know how to party AND stay safe in the backcountry! Join us at Carvers on Thursday, October 10th at 6pm to celebrate. Beer, food, raffles, and good times are on tap— plus the first 25 through the door snag a free pint glass.
And don’t forget, the theme is Canadian Tuxedo (denim on denim). Dust off those jorts, jeans, jumpsuits, and cutoffs because nothing says jean-ius like skiing in denim

Have you heard of Caltopo, onX Maps, Gaia, or any of the other online mapping programs? Have you tried using them but aren’t sure where to start? Come spend the evening with Friends of the San Juans, where we will teach you the basics of using these online mapping tools to plan your next ski tour and help you navigate the backcountry.
While it is not required, we encourage all participants to arrive with a computer, tablet, or phone capable of using Caltopo; while there are many other mapping programs, Caltop is a great place to start, and all the lessons learned will easily transfer into your mapping tool of choice.
Caltopo can be found here: www.caltopo.com
